Jakarta (08/02) — Jazuli Juwaini, Chairman of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Faction in Indonesia’s House of Representatives, has strongly supported the formation of a nine-nation alliance to monitor international violations committed by Israel in Palestine.

The coalition, named The Hague Group, was recently established in the Netherlands and includes South Africa, Malaysia, Namibia, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Senegal, Honduras, and Belize.

The alliance was formed in response to the profound grief over the loss of lives, livelihoods, communities, and cultural heritage due to Israel’s acts of genocide in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories.

Jazuli Juwaini hopes that Indonesia will join The Hague Group as part of broader global efforts to end Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

“All global efforts and alliances aimed at stopping Israel’s colonization of Palestine must be fully supported. We encourage Indonesia to engage actively in such alliances, alongside other international initiatives,” he stated.

As a member of Commission I (overseeing defense, foreign affairs, and communications) in the House of Representatives, Jazuli highlighted the strategic importance of the alliance in enforcing international law against Israeli violations. “This initiative will further isolate Israel and its supporters within the global community. Only a handful of nations continue to back Israel, while the majority now stand with Palestine—and this number is growing,” he explained.

The lawmaker, representing Banten Electoral District, stressed that support for Palestinian independence must be strengthened through permanent ceasefires, an end to Israeli occupation, and robust diplomatic and global advocacy.

“The world must take a firmer, more decisive stance against Israel’s arrogance, which blatantly disregards international agreements, norms, and laws,” Jazuli asserted.
