PKS Faction Chairman of the DPR RI Dr Jazuli Juwaini attended the 52nd Conference of the Executive Committee of the Parliament of OIC Countries (PUIC) in Rabat, Morocco, 10-12 September 2024. The Indonesian Parliamentary Delegation was led by BKSAP Chairman Fadli Zon.

Jazuli said that in the meeting a number of main decisions were agreed to urge an immediate end to the Israeli massacre in Palestine and to seek immediate, measurable, and systematic steps for Palestine independence.

“This effort for Palestine independence is not easy and agreements at the OIC Parliament level must be executed by executives in their respective countries. But we must remain optimistic in realizing Palestine independence,” said Jazuli.

This member of Commission I of the DPR for Banten II Electoral District emphasized that Indonesia’s presence at this Conference has a strategic role. Even the OIC countries themselves see Indonesia’s strategic role in the Palestine issue because of our commitment and consistency in defending Palestine.

“Indonesia has never shifted its defense of the Palestine people because it is not only a humanitarian issue but also a constitutional mandate and historical debt. Indonesia remains consistent in its stance that Palestine must be independent in the shortest possible time,” concluded Jazuli. In addition, various proposals were submitted by the Indonesian parliament in this meeting to immediately stop Israel’s colonial aggression permanently, starting from stronger legal efforts to drag Israel to the International Court, encouraging Palestine to become a full member of the UN, rejecting normalization with Israel, supporting Israel’s isolation movement from interactions between countries through the BDS campaign, to diplomacy at a broader Parliamentary level such as the IPU.
