Jakarta (07/08) — Chairman of The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Faction of DPR RI, Jazuli Juwaini, believes that the murder of the Palestinian resistance leader Ismail Haniyah has thwarted peace efforts continuously pursued by various parties to stop Israeli aggression in Palestinian territories.

According to Jazuli, this murder is a provocative act that ignites a wider war. It also further underscores Israel’s nature as an occupier who does not wish to see peace achieved in Palestine, the Middle East, and the world.

“In the midst of the world’s efforts to push for more permanent peace, Israel continues to thwart them. This shows the barbaric nature of the occupiers who have no moral legitimacy whatsoever to achieve peace efforts,” Jazuli said.

This member of Commission I of the DPR reiterated his previous statement that Israel is the root cause of all humanitarian tragedies and global upheavals. Israel violates the Dictum of the UN Charter, defies various UN resolutions, violates human rights, and breaches almost all articles of international law.

“Israeli officials have been found guilty by the International Criminal Court (ICC) as war criminals. This was followed by the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that Israel’s occupation of Palestine has been illegal and must immediately vacate Palestinian land,” stated him.

Nevertheless, the Vice President of the World Muslim Parliamentarians Forum deeply regrets that international organizations such as the UN, including major Western countries, have failed to stop Israel’s barbarity and occupation with the available international legal instruments.

“The UN and influential countries have failed to stop Israeli aggression, including failing to prevent the murder of figures like Ismail Haniyah, who continued to travel the world conducting international diplomacy to achieve peace in Palestine,” mentioned Jazuli.

The Chairman of the PKS Faction of the DPR said that the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyah at the hands of the Zionists does not diminish the struggle for Palestinian independence but instead fuels the spirit to immediately liberate Palestine from the clutches of Israeli occupiers.

On the other hand, the murder of this Palestinian political and resistance figure will further heat up the political situation and conflict in the Middle East, distancing efforts for peace and world stability.

“Therefore, the UN and influential countries must work hard again, starting with a firmer and more decisive stance and actions towards Israel to comply with international rules and laws,” concluded Jazuli.
