Jakarta (26/06) — PKS Faction Chairman at the Indonesian Parliament, Jazuli Juwaini, condemned Israel’s annexation plan of West bank and Jordan Valley, which is planned by July 1st. This move is another example of hundreds of Israeli conducts that violates human rights and international law, as well as a threat to world’s peace and stability.
“Annexation in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, where Palestinians are mostly in refugee camps, is very disturbing and unthinkable. Israel has repeatedly demonstrated these kinds of unlawful behaviour” said Jazuli begrudgingly.
As a member of Commission 1 in the parliament, Jazuli fully supports the Indonesian Foreign Minister’s statement that rejects Israel’s West Bank Plan in the high-level meeting of United Nations Security Council at June 24th, 2020.
He further asked the Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi to take diplomatic efforts to preserve rights of Palestinian people from Israel’s arrogance.
“Indonesia is always standing beside the Palestinians. As long as Palestine remains oppressed, unjustly treated, and their human right is violated, Indonesia will not be silent” stated Jazuli.
As a Deputy President of the International Islamic Forum of Parliamentarians (IIFP), Jazuli urged all countries to stop the human right violations by Israel go unpunished.” Furthermore, he asked for tangible action from the international community to prevent this from happening.
“Condemnations and resolutions are not enough. We need collective actions from all countries to face Israel’s arrogance. The UN’s credibility is at stake” said Jazuli.
